US-Based Production of Novel Value-Added Carbon Materials [Graphite (a critical mineral), CNT & Graphene] and Energy [H2]

THE PROBLEM

The United States currently imports 100% of its graphite requirements, with ~50% sourced from a single country. Projections indicate that the demand for graphite increases up to 2500% by 2050, exacerbating the vulnerability of this supply chain. This situation is precarious, as various factors—including trade wars, export bans, and geopolitical tensions—pose significant threats to its stability.

Similarly, the demand for hydrogen is projected to increase by 7.3 times by 2050. Currently, the United States ranks as the third-largest producer of hydrogen, following China and Germany, and is the fifth-largest importer of hydrogen globally.

At HidrogeniCs, we believe these two challenges are interconnected. The United States can leverage its abundant methane resources to address both issues effectively.

OUR SOLUTION

At HidrogeniCs, we use methane as an abundant resource in the United States and transform it into two strategic products for the future: 1) soild value-added carbon products (synthetic graphite, carbon nanotube and graphene) and 2) Turquoise hydrogen.

Our innovative hydrocarbon pyrolysis technology produces high-quality synthetic graphite, essential for metal ion batteries, electronics, etc while generating hydrogen as a co-product. Hydrogen is both a fuel as well as essential raw material for many industries.

By leveraging an abundant resource, we’re driving a zero-waste economy that powers the world with advanced carbon materials and energy.

Value added Carbon  Products

In Hidrogenics process, four different carbon products can be produces inclusing Graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), Graphite, and Carbon black.

MAIN ADVANTAGES

HidrogeniCs uses patent-pending novel catalysts to decompose small hydrocarbons (methane, ethane and propane) into critical mineral Graphite and Turquoise Hydrogen via low-temperature pyrolysis. The main advantages of this process is

1) Production of high value carbon products (these carbon products have 100-200000 times higher value as compare to Carbon Black)

2) Production of low price hydrogen (Targeting 0.75-1.5 $/kg in commercial scale production)

3) Low temperature operation and doesn’t need molten metal which is costly, energy demanding and corrosive to the reactor

4) Lack of mechanical part by design to boost energy efficiency of the process and eliminate costly maintenance

5) Selectivity towards 4 different carbon products (Graphene, Carbon nanotubes, Synthetic graphite and carbon black) depends on market fit

6) Selectivity toward pure hydrogen
